Newy 87.8 FM – A bush fire is burning at Oakdale Road, Redhead, with the NSW Rural Fire Service issuing an Advice level alert for the incident.
The fire, in the Lake Macquarie council area, is listed as not yet controlled, according to the NSW Rural Fire Service major incidents feed.
Fire and Rescue NSW is the responsible agency for the incident.
The fire's size was listed at zero hectares in the alert, which was updated at 10:27am on Friday, 29 August 2026.
An Advice alert is the lowest of the alert levels used by the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Residents in the Redhead area are encouraged to monitor official channels for any changes to the alert level or fire status.
