Newy 87.8 FM – Extra train services will run on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line this Sunday 4 October to carry Knights fans to the NRL Grand Final at Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park.
The Newcastle Knights will take on the Sydney Roosters in front of a sold-out crowd of 80,000, while the Roosters and Broncos meet in the NRLW Grand Final.
Transport for NSW says trackwork planned for the line on Sunday has been rescheduled, and no freight trains will operate on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line to maximise capacity for passengers.
Additional services will run from 10am, giving passengers from Newcastle and the Central Coast trains to Sydney at least every 30 minutes, with extra trains after the match to help fans get home. Passengers should change at Strathfield for Olympic Park services.
Extra Hunter Line services will also operate before and after the event for customers travelling via Newcastle Interchange.
Travel on all modes of public transport is included in the match ticket, with fans asked to show their ticket to transport staff when boarding. The entitlement does not cover the Sydney Airport station access fee.
Fans without pre-booked parking are urged not to drive to Olympic Park, as no on-site parking will be available and roads within the precinct will be closed throughout the day.
Gates open at 1pm, with the NRLW Grand Final kicking off at 4pm and the NRL Grand Final at 7:30pm.
