Newy 87.8 FM – Transport for NSW will run extra trains between Newcastle and Sydney for Knights fans travelling to the NRL Preliminary Final against Penrith at Accor Stadium on Sunday 27 September.
Additional services will depart Newcastle Interchange at 12.01pm and 12.56pm, arriving at Strathfield at 2.38pm and 3.16pm respectively. The trains will stop at all stations to Morisset, then Wyong, Tuggerah, Gosford, Woy Woy, Hornsby, Epping and Strathfield, where fans can change for a direct train to Olympic Park.
Return services will depart Strathfield at 6.45pm and 7.31pm, stopping at Epping, Hornsby, Woy Woy, Gosford, Tuggerah, Wyong and Morisset, then limited stops to Newcastle Interchange.
Up to 50,000 fans are expected at Sydney Olympic Park, with ticketholders urged to use public transport. Match tickets include travel on all modes of public transport, including Sydney Trains, NSW TrainLink intercity, Sydney Metro, buses, light rail and ferries, with event tickets valid on trains until 4am the following day.
Gates open at 2.15pm ahead of the 4pm kick-off. Trackwork on Sunday will affect multiple lines, and passengers are advised to check the Trip Planner. Major Event Buses will not run for this game, pre-booked precinct parking is a flat $40, and local roads around the stadium will be closed.
