Newy 87.8 FM – Planning, economic development and transport leaders from across the Hunter have come together for the Hunter Joint Organisation's Council Planning and Economic Development Forum, examining how housing, transport and infrastructure can keep pace as the region grows.
A key focus of the forum was the role transport infrastructure plays in unlocking future housing growth, with attendees exploring opportunities to better align regional and local priorities.
Discussions also covered regional advocacy, the Local Government Planning Roundtable, financial pressures on local government and workforce transition opportunities.
The Hunter Joint Organisation said that with the region continuing to grow and evolve, forums like this play an important role in connecting councils, sharing knowledge and strengthening a coordinated regional approach to the issues that matter most to communities.
