Newy 87.8 FM – Mayors and General Managers from across the Hunter will return to NSW Parliament House in October, taking a united regional voice directly to Ministers, Shadow Ministers and Members of Parliament ahead of the 2027 NSW Election.
The Hunter Joint Organisation says the region's communities are facing both significant opportunities and complex challenges as the Hunter continues to grow and evolve.
Councils are working together on priorities including creating future jobs, unlocking housing supply, improving critical infrastructure and strengthening local government, with the aim of ensuring the Hunter remains a great place to live, work and invest.
Mayor Sue Moore said the region's priorities deserve a prominent place in discussions leading up to the next State Election.
The Hunter Joint Organisation says it will share more over the coming weeks about the key priorities it will be taking to Parliament House and why they matter to local communities.
The organisation says the councils are together advocating for a stronger, more resilient and more prosperous Hunter.
