Newy 87.8 FM – The Murrook Festival will return on Saturday 14 November 2026, running from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Murrook Culture Centre at 2354 Nelson Bay Rd, Williamtown.
This year's theme is MIRRIIYNDJA DALIGA, meaning "Under the Stars". The event is hosted by the Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council on Worimi Country in the Port Stephens area.
The program will feature music, dance, storytelling, food, activities, performers and entertainment, with organisers billing the event as family-friendly and affordable. Free parking and dedicated bus transfers will be available for attendees.
The 2026 festival follows what organisers described as "a wonderful turnout in 2025".
Performers and program details have not yet been announced, with organisers saying details will be revealed over the coming months via the festival's social channels and website.
Artist expressions of interest are open through a form on murrook.org.au. Organisers describe the event as a community-led "intimate gathering" rather than a music festival, and say they are not chasing large commercial acts.
Instead, they are seeking grassroots Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and multicultural performers, favouring an acoustic-style, ambient atmosphere with people relaxing around the fires.
