Muswellbrook Council places Draft Controlled Documents Policy on public exhibition

Newy 87.8 FM – Muswellbrook Shire Council has placed its Draft Controlled Documents Policy on public exhibition for 28 days, running from 24 September 2026 to 22 October 2026.
The decision was made at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held in Muswellbrook on 22 September 2026.
The Draft Controlled Documents Policy establishes a framework for the development, approval, review and management of Council's controlled documents.
The policy aims to ensure Council documents are of a high quality, consistent in format and application, compliant with legislative requirements, subject to appropriate document control processes, and readily accessible and understood by Council officers and the community.
By resolution of Council, if no submissions are received during the exhibition period, the policy will be adopted on 23 October 2026.
Council is inviting feedback from the community. Submissions will be accepted until close of business on 22 October 2026, and residents should quote "Draft Controlled Documents Policy" when making a submission.
Council advises that submissions are used for the purpose of considering the policy on public exhibition and become a record of Council. Submissions are considered open access information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and may be included in Council's meeting business paper and accessible to the public on Council's website.
