Suzie Miller to headline Newcastle Writers Festival spring event in October

Newy 87.8 FM – Playwright and author Suzie Miller will appear at a special Newcastle Writers Festival spring program event on Thursday 1 October 2026.
An Evening with Suzie Miller will run from 7.30pm to 8.30pm at Newcastle Theatre Company.
Miller will reflect on her career across theatre, literature and law, discussing the ideas and experiences that have informed her work and the social questions that drive her creativity.
In conversation with Rosemarie Milsom, Miller will discuss her new novel Inter Alia, which explores what happens when an eminent High Court Judge is forced to reckon with her professional life and her role as wife, mother, friend and feminist when a devastating crisis hits home.
The festival describes the novel as intimate and provocative, examining modern masculinity, family, privilege and accountability.
Newcastle Writers Festival has acknowledged the Awabakal and Worimi peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the festival takes place, recognising their continuing connection to land, water and community, and paying respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
