Newy 87.8 FM – Muswellbrook Shire Council is proposing to close sections of Castlerock Road, Coal Creek Road and Belgrave Road that are no longer required following the construction and realignment of Castlerock Road.
The proposed closures are being undertaken in conjunction with the opening of the newly realigned section of Castlerock Road.
The sections proposed for closure are identified in red on a plan accompanying the Council's notice.
Following the closures, the Council intends to sell the land comprising the former road reserves to an adjoining landowner.
The Council has invited interested persons to make a written submission regarding the proposed road closures.
The public exhibition period runs for 28 days from the date of publication of the statutory notice.
Under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, submissions may be referred to third parties for consideration.
Following the exhibition period, the Council will consider all submissions received before determining whether to proceed with the proposed road closures.
